What we collect

PageGuides collects the minimum data necessary to operate. Specifically:

• Email address, only when you explicitly submit one to receive the free PDF guide. Stored to deliver the file and (occasionally) notify you when a major new version is released — never more than once a year.
• Hashed IP address (SHA-256, salted) used for rate-limiting submissions to forms and tracking affiliate clicks. The raw IP is not stored.
• Survey answers you submit (multiple-choice responses about your cancellation experience). Stored without personal identifiers.
• User-submitted tips, moderated before publication. Stored only with a hashed IP for spam control.
• Aggregated analytics from Vercel Analytics — page views and performance metrics. No personal data.

What we don't do

• We don't sell or rent your email.
• We don't use third-party advertising trackers (no Google AdSense, no Facebook pixel).
• We don't set non-essential cookies that require a banner.
• We don't share data with the companies whose cancellation guides we publish.

Affiliate tracking

When you click an affiliate button (Rocket Money, Trim, DoNotPay, Privacy.com, Incogni), we log the click — the partner name, the company page you came from, your hashed IP, and rough geography (US state level). This lets us understand which guides recommend the most useful partners, without identifying you individually.

Your rights (CCPA/GDPR)

You can request that we delete your email, your survey responses, or any tip you submitted at any time. Email hello@pageguides.com with your request. We respond within 7 days.
