How to Cancel Peloton in 2026

If you subscribed directly through Peloton, cancelling the App or All-Access Membership is a self-service online flow at onepeloton.com/mymembership and is fairly quick. Difficulty rises because (1) the flow surfaces pause and switch-plan offers before letting you cancel, (2) there is no prorated refund, so timing matters, and (3) the single biggest trap is that a large share of App memberships are billed by Apple, Google, Roku or Amazon Peloton genuinely cannot cancel those, and many people keep getting charged after thinking they cancelled.

If you hit a wall

Why this is harder than it should be

Cancelling Peloton is two different chores depending on what you own and who charges you. If you bought a Bike, Bike+, Tread or Guide, you have the All-Access Membership ($49.99/mo as of late 2025); if you only use the app, you have App One (free tier) or App+ ($9.99/mo). Both can be cancelled online at onepeloton.com/mymembership but Peloton first nudges you toward pausing or downgrading the plan instead of leaving outright. The real frustration is the billing source. A large share of app members signed up through Apple, Google, Roku or Amazon, and Peloton flatly cannot cancel those subscriptions you must go into that platform. People cancel inside the Peloton app, see no workouts queued, then get charged again by Apple a month later. Add a strict no-prorated-refund policy (you pay the full current period no matter when you quit) and a free trial that silently converts to paid, and a 'simple' cancellation becomes a billing-detective exercise.

Step-by-step

  1. 01

First, figure out WHO bills you. Check your card statement or receipt. If it says 'Peloton' you have a first-party membership cancel directly with Peloton (steps 2-6). If it says 'Apple', 'iTunes', 'Google', 'Roku' or 'Amazon', you signed up through that platform and MUST cancel there (step 7) Peloton cannot stop those charges.

Watch outThis is the #1 reason people keep getting charged after 'cancelling.' Cancelling inside the Peloton app does nothing if Apple or Google is the biller.
  2. 02

For a first-party membership, go to https://www.onepeloton.com/mymembership in a web browser and log in with your Peloton account. This is the official cancellation surface named in Peloton's Membership Terms.

Watch outUse a desktop/mobile browser, not the workout app the membership management lives on the website account area.
  3. 03

Open your Membership / Account Settings and locate the active membership you want to end (Peloton All-Access Membership for a Bike, Bike+, Tread or Guide; or your Peloton App One / App+ membership).

Watch outHouseholds with both a Bike and the App may have two separate memberships cancelling one does not cancel the other.
  4. 04

Select Cancel Membership for that plan and proceed through the prompts.

Watch outPeloton may first offer to PAUSE your membership or SWITCH/downgrade your plan (e.g. All-Access down to App) instead of cancelling. These are retention offers decline them if you want a full cancellation.
  5. 05

Confirm the cancellation when asked. Read the confirmation screen it should state the date your access ends.

Watch outThere is NO prorated refund. You keep access until the end of the period you already paid for, then it stops. Cancelling early in a billing cycle does not get money back.
  6. 06

Verify the change. Your membership status should now read that it 'Expires on' (or 'ends on') a date rather than 'Renews on' a date. Keep the confirmation email or a screenshot.

Watch outIf you still see a future 'Renews on' date, the cancellation did not stick try again or call support before the next charge.
  7. 07

If you are billed by a third party, cancel in that platform instead: Apple iPhone/iPad Settings > tap your name > Subscriptions > Peloton > Cancel Subscription. Google Play app > profile icon > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions > Peloton > Cancel subscription. Amazon Your Account > Memberships & Subscriptions > Peloton > Cancel. Roku Home > highlight the Peloton channel > Options/* button > Manage subscription > Cancel.

Watch outExact menu labels shift with OS updates. The principle holds: cancel through whoever charges you, and do it at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
  8. 08

If self-service fails or you cannot reach the account, call Peloton Member Support at 1-866-679-9129 (number listed in Peloton's Membership Terms). Ask for written/email confirmation of cancellation.

Watch outPhone reps can also pitch pause/downgrade offers be clear you want a full cancellation, not a pause.

Refund policy

No prorated refunds. Per Peloton's Membership Terms, you are not eligible for a refund of any portion of the fee paid for the current membership period; access continues until the end of that period and then does not renew. Limited statutory exceptions exist for certain New York and Canadian residents.

Free trial trap

New members can get a 30-day free trial of the Peloton App (App One / App+). Per the Membership Terms, if you do not cancel before the trial ends, the account automatically converts to a paid membership and is charged set a reminder a few days before day 30.

What to do if they refuse to cancel

If Peloton keeps charging you after you cancelled, first nail down WHO the merchant is on your statement Peloton has no power over Apple/Google/Roku/Amazon billing, so dispute with whichever platform shows on the charge. For a direct Peloton charge after a confirmed cancellation, keep your cancellation confirmation and call 1-866-679-9129 to demand a reversal, citing that the renewal occurred after you cancelled. If they refuse, dispute the charge with your bank or card issuer as an unauthorized recurring charge after cancellation and attach your confirmation screenshot. Report deceptive recurring-billing practices to the FTC at reportfraud.ftc.gov. State residents have extra leverage: California, New York and Vermont have automatic-renewal laws requiring easy online cancellation file with your State Attorney General (oag.ca.gov, ag.ny.gov, ago.vermont.gov). New York and certain Canadian residents may also qualify for statutory refund exceptions Peloton's own terms acknowledge.

Reader questions

Frequently asked questions

I have a Peloton Bike will cancelling my membership brick the bike?
Cancelling the All-Access Membership doesn't disable the hardware, but it removes nearly all functionality. Without an active membership you lose live and on-demand classes and most metrics; the touchscreen falls back to a very limited 'Just Ride/Just Run' free mode with no instructor content. The bike itself keeps working as a manual bike. You can reactivate the membership later from the equipment at any time.
I cancelled in the Peloton app but I'm still being charged why?
Almost certainly because Apple, Google, Roku or Amazon is the actual biller, not Peloton. Cancelling inside the app or even at onepeloton.com does not stop a subscription that runs through a third-party app store. Check your receipt/statement for the merchant name and cancel in that platform's subscription settings. Peloton support cannot cancel or refund third-party-billed memberships.
Will I get a refund for the unused part of the month?
No. Peloton's Membership Terms state you are not eligible for a prorated refund of the current period you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for, and it simply doesn't renew after that. The main exceptions are statutory ones for certain New York and Canadian residents. To avoid wasting money, cancel close to (but before) your renewal date.
